All on Board for Pride 2012

Liverpool Pride is on-track for delivering a festival for 2012 with a new look Board of Trustees to take on the challenge for the coming year.

At the Annual General Meeting in January, we had a great attendance from the community and members of Liverpool Pride, and were able to reflect on the highs and lows of the last year, and take a look at what the future may hold. We were also able to formally give thanks to Tommy McIlravey, the former chair, who stepped down at the end of 2011, for all his hard work, perseverance in developing Liverpool Pride into the success it has been for the city. We also give thanks to two of our departing trustees Jeni Tehan and Kim McCann, whose skills and enthusiasm have helped to make Pride what it is today.

We were also able to invite members to put themselves up to be trustees of Liverpool Pride, with all the responsibility, work, challenge (and no money) that it brings. I’m delighted to say we were able to vote for four new trustees to come in, each with their own skills and expertise to strengthen the Board. Maz Caddick, Paul German, Paddy Jones and Vic Hanley are now part of the Pride team, and are already bringing great ideas and passion for what we are looking to achieve.

The AGM did not vote for a new Chair at this time, to allow for new trustees to bed in, and will be voted on in due course. In the interim, Zoran Blackie is acting chair for Liverpool Pride, alongside existing trustees James Davies, Joan Burnett and James Licence. More information on the board will be available soon on the Liverpool Pride website.

We’re also looking to recruit more volunteers, if you are interested please contact our Emma Nuttall or apply to volunteer online. We’re delighted to have Emma join our team as Volunteer Manager thanks to the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All scheme.
